AhlulBayt News Agency - Grand Ayatollah Hussein Noori Hamedani, top Shia jurisprudent, met with Seyyed Amar al-Hakim, chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressing confrontation between orthodoxy and non-belief as the current challenge for Iraq noting that Islamic unity as the only solution for the issues in the world of Islam.
He noted that challenges in Iraq do not belong to the country and stressed importance of the scholars and resistance front to boost their unity.
The cleric said that Islamic awakening was formed in line with Islamic revolution and that the achievement has reached beyond borders of the Muslim world.
Iranian jurisprudent hailed the late founder of Islamic revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) for injecting confidence into veins of the nation and called Islamic revolution as manifestation of the might of the people which was revived by Imam Khomeini (RA).
Ayatollah Noori Hamedani highlighted the key role of jurisprudents for supporting the Iraqi people and added,” Iraq does not have the integration of Iran and remaining supporters of former dictator Saddam Hussein adds to the burden of Iraqi clerics.
Senior scholar also stressed necessity of finding solutions for Muslim world issues and said;” Muslim scholars should form a unified front because that is the only solution for issues in the world of Islam.”
The cleric also reiterated liberation of al Quds and concluded,” Our power lies in our religious belief and determination and the future will prove victory of the oppressed nations over the arrogant powers.”
Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) Ammar Hakim said the Arab country’s security forces are going to retake the entire regions now occupied by Daesh (ISIL/ISIS) terrorist group, including northern city of Mosul.
Speaking in a meeting with Iranian senior cleric, Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani, in Iran’s central city of Qom, Hakim said the situation in his country has generally witnessed progress.
As regards the ongoing efforts and military operations to free Daesh-held Iraqi territories, Hakim pointed to the operation to recapture Fallujah, and said, “Only Mosul and its surrounding areas have remained in Daesh’s hand and we are trying to free them soon.”
Hakim had separate meetings with senior Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during which Zarif vowed Iran's continued support for the Iraqi nation.
